How to use the Plastic Applicator Blue with Felt Edge:

1. Prepare the Surface

• Clean the surface: Before applying vinyl, decal, or tint, ensure the surface is clean and free of dust, dirt, or grease. Use a mild detergent or Avery Surface Cleaner and a lint-free cloth to clean the area.
• Dry the surface: Make sure the surface is completely dry before applying the material.
  
  

2. Position the Material

• Align the material: Carefully position the vinyl, decal, or tint on the surface. You can use masking tape or speed magnets to hold it in place temporarily.
• Use a hinge method (optional): For large applications, tape down one side of the material, then peel back the opposite side’s backing paper. This method allows you to apply the material gradually.
  
  

3. Start the Application

• Peel back the backing: Slowly peel back the backing paper from the material, exposing the adhesive side.
• Initial placement: Lay the exposed adhesive on the surface, starting from one edge or corner.
  
  

4. Use the Felt Edge Squeegee

• Hold the squeegee at a 45-degree angle: This angle allows for even pressure distribution and helps avoid air bubbles.
• Apply pressure: Starting from the centre of the material, use the felt edge of the squeegee to smooth out the material, moving towards the edges. This action pushes out any air bubbles and ensures good adhesion.
• Work in small sections: Move the squeegee in overlapping strokes to prevent bubbles or wrinkles from forming.
• Be gentle: The felt edge is designed to protect the surface, so use even, consistent pressure without pressing too hard.
  
  

5. Check for Air Bubbles

• Inspect your work: After applying the material, inspect for any air bubbles. If you find any, gently lift the material from the nearest edge and reapply with the squeegee.
  
  

6. Final Touches

• Seal the edges: Go over the edges of the material with the felt squeegee to ensure they are properly adhered.
