Ford Chapter 8 Kits

Ford Ranger FAQs

Introduced in 1982, the Ford Ranger is a powerful, mid-size pick-up truck. Designed as an all-purpose vehicle, the Ranger is suitable for the most rigorous of work applications, whilst also being an excellent run-about car. The Ford Ranger has become a popular choice for the independent tradesman.

Yes, we can provide a mountain rescue chevron kit. We can provide kits to meet the requirements of any emergency services vehicle. Just give us a call and a member of our sales team will assist you with ordering a kit with more specific requirements, beyond a standard rear chevron.

Yes, we offer chapter 8 kits applied to a magnetic backing. This allows you to apply the chevron kits only when you need it, and the rest of the time they can be stored in the back or in the garage, ready for the next job. We advise all of our customers to check that the rear of their vehicle is indeed magnetic before ordering.

Our Nikkalite and 3M kits are sonically edge sealed as they are cut, and AveryV8000 is a naturally self-sealing product. Edge sealing protects the reflective cells of a prismatic from water ingress, and dust contamination.

We only supply the tailgate bed chevrons as standard. However, if you’re looking for coverage of the hard-top too, just get in touch and we can provide bespoke coverage to suit your needs. As there are a number of alternate hard-tops, the job may require your vehicle to be templated.

Ford Transit FAQs

The Ford Transit is marketed primarily as a cargo van. It is popular for transporting and delivering goods; however, it also has applications as a passenger transporter. First hitting the market in 1965, the Transit van has become one of the most popular commercial fleet vehicles on the road. There are a number of variations on the original model, introducing new sizes and more bespoke formats such as the Custom and the Connect.

Yes, we supply chevron kits for the rear of the Ford Transit, both before and after the 2018 door revisions. Simply look for the Transit Mk6 kit which has an increased number of panels on the lower section of the chevron to better conform to the new intricacies of the doors surface. There is no alteration to the price, both kits are priced equally.

Make sure that you know the model and year of your vehicle, as well as the dimensions i.e. Roof height and wheel-base. Knowing this, you should be able to navigate our website to find the kit to match. Once you have identified the correct kit, you can choose from 3 different coverage options; Full rear, Full glazed and Half rear. Furthermore, you can contact us directly if you require bespoke coverage. It all comes down to preference, but if you want to be extra safe on the road, it is best to opt for a full kit. If your vehicle will be frequenting high speed roads, or operating on a high-speed road e.g over 40mph; you will require a prismatic chevron kit in order to be compliant with the chapter 8 guidelines.

Our flooded options make the removal of the chevron cleaner and easier when your lease finishes.

The standard turn-around time is 4 days for standard or flooded sperate kits. Flooded applied and magnetic kits require an additional day in production, totalling 5. We then send it to be delivered for next day. We do provide options to reduce the production time to 3/2/1 working days for manufacturing.

Ford Transit Custom FAQs

The Ford Transit Custom is a mid-sized, front-wheel-drive van, introduced in 2012 as a smaller variant of the Ford Transit. This vehicle is typically used as a courier vehicle, passenger vehicle and also has camper-van variations. It is a popular and versatile choice for fleet owners and the most recent models feature a hybrid engine. Perfect for Eco-friendly businesses.

Yes, we provide kits for both glazed and panelled-back vehicles. For a glazed vehicle, we would recommend either a full glazed chevron kit, this is where the windows are unobstructed, and the chevron continues around the door frames. Or a half chevron kit, which is only applied below the windows.

Yes, we have the data to cut chevron kits for the new Transit Custom. We update our system with new vehicle models regularly, and can even template new vehicles to add to our data-base for future customers.

We do sell replacement panels; if your kit was provided by us, we can take the affected panel numbers and get only those that need replacing out to you for a cheaper price than buying the entire kit a second time. If you don’t have the paperwork that came with your kit, and / or don’t know the panel numbers, a member of our sales team can identify the panels from an image of the damaged chevron. It must be a kit that we have provided.

If you want to ensure the safety of yourself and others on the road, you can equip your vehicle with rear chevrons.

Our Nikkalite and 3M kits are sonically edge sealed and AveryV8000 is naturally self-sealing. This sealing protects the cells from weathering and water ingress, preserving the quality and efficiency through less than adequate conditions.

Ford Transit Custom LR FAQs

The Ford Transit Custom Low-Roof is a mid-size van. Introduced in 2012. Its primary use case is as a small/medium parcel courier vehicle, with secondary applications as a passenger vehicle/ people carrier. The most recent models feature a hybrid engine.

One of our high-quality engineering grade kits, will stand up to the dust just fine; and all of our prismatic kits are edge sealed so there won’t be any dust getting caught up in the reflective cells. Even after long exposure. If the vehicle will be frequenting remote and likely sparsely lit roads. We would advise a prismatic kit, to ensure extra safety. We cannot guarantee the effectiveness of our kits when not properly maintained, however. It is advised that all kits should remain properly cleaned in order to continue operating at their full conspicuity.

If you click on one of our Transit Custom rear chevron products, there will be a link to a guide in the first paragraph of information, to the right of the vehicle visual. The guide shows a comparison table between the materials, helping you decide which is the most suitable for usage, quality and price. Generally, the guidelines state that if your vehicle is frequenting high-speed roads, the kit should be prismatic.

At an additional cost, we offer Flooded and Flooded Applied kits for time sensitive jobs. These are supplied in fewer pieces, that are more easily applied to the vehicle. In a flooded kit, the yellow comes in large panels which are applied to the vehicle first and then have the red supplied separately, for you to apply on top. Flooded applied kits come in the same format, but with the red sections already applied to the yellow panels for you. These options save a lot of time and leave less room for error when you are working on a time-sensitive job.

We sell replacement panels. If we provided the original kit; all we need is the panel numbers and we can provide exact matches for size and colour to get the kit back to full effectiveness.

By carefully checking the model or year of the vehicle, the correct kit should be easily identifiable on our website catalogue. Each product we sell states the vehicle model and date range of the vehicle it is intended for. Another factor to consider is whether the vehicle is a barn door or tail gate rear. One will not fit the other. If you require assistance with the identification process or have any queries regarding your vehicle and its kit, please contact our team. You may require information about the vehicle so please be ready to provide your vehicle registration number or an image of the rear (and sides if you require a side-mounted chevron or sides-tripe).

There is no legislation that dictates that you must equip a work vehicle with chevrons. However, there are guidelines to ensure the safety of everyone on the road. For use in towns, your vehicle will likely be stopping on roads under 40mph; in which case an engineering grade kit is the minimum requirement, engineering grade kits are Oralite 5400, or Nikkalite FEG. On roads above 40mph, a prismatic grade kit is what you will require. These are much brighter and are overall more effective at alerting other road-users to your presence. Prismatic kits that we provide are as follows. Oralite 5960, Avery V8000, Nikkalite Crystal Grade and 3M Diamond Grade.
